There’s no denying that family guy is indeed funnie…. There’s also lots of funny and witty dialogue from pretty much any character in seasons 2-4.
Of course this isn’t the show's ONLY comedy aspect, their show still has some very good timing for jokes and visual gags. and some can be very simple yet at the same time so effective. These cutaways are genius because you do not know what to expect from them, some can be over the top and random. The cutaways are so clever and unpredictable and makes Family Guy’s comedy stand out from just simply being “funny” and its great pop culture references. The cutaways are one of the things that this show is known for and its really easy to see why, they are fucking hialrious. If there's one thing that even season 1 did right at establishing, it would be the cutaways. This was the time when we actually cared about the characters and the show unironically could be taken seriously. The show has an even higher ratio of gags, more creativity thrown in and more heartfelt stories which makes the family even more lovable. Seasons 2-4 are a step up from season 1 and I believe this is the show's best era (which isn't an uncommon opinion but still wanted to mention it). Despite that, the show still knew what it wanted to be and the characters were likeable enough. Most of the plots in season 1 are nothing special and in fact some of them had some things that pissed me off (such as the ending to Mind Over Murder).
Seasons 1-4: First season of family guy was good but I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy this show as much as everyone else, it didn’t give me the best introduction to the characters, it was still good but gave me the impression that the rest of the early seasons would be around the same quality as this one and I don’t have the patience in me to deal with 5 or 6 seasons of it. I stopped watching it near the middle of season 2 and took a long break until I went back to watching it in April and later finished in May 2021.

Later decided to just watch the show in full a few days later. On this very day, I watched my first family guy episode, “the simpsons guy” I loved it a lot and watched more random episodes. Link to all episodes rated: /document/d/14b…
